--Profile
Yukio Kuwajima (born 1965 in Saitama Prefecture, Japan) has been a
graphic designer & illustrator. He started to work for a small
design studio in Tokyo after graduating from the sculpture division
in Tama Art University, and dealt with graphics works of karaoke.
In 1995, he won the NEC multimedia grand-prix. Then, he became a freelance
. Many exhibitions are managed by him as a member of a Digital Image.
The Tokyo ukiyoe-girl-exhibition in which he choose the image of the
contemporary Tokyo Harajuku girls as subjects was held in Tokyo, Osaka,
Hakata, Nagano, etc. Moreover, he belongs to the artist group called
AIDEN with several digital artists. He has uniquely kept changing
his style of painting at every exhibition. His works are mainly WEB
designs as illustrations, multimedia creations, animations, etc. As
a co-authored book, he wrote "PAINTER super art work" and
"personal computer pictures created by Photoshop using photographs,"
etc. He cooperates with a Japanese comedy writer, Yasunari Suda, and
starts design unit "ufu-ufu-design.com", a comedy unit "namagenome.com"
for seeking new possibilities of comedy.
--Philosophy
I think that we as painters should create various works like singers
singing happy and sad songs. I wish to honestly express my feelings
time after time, and expand my heart without being bound by anything.
I believe that is would be wonderful if my works exist as long as
possible in order to make people around the world smiling. I focus
on creating paintings that would remind people of their childhood.
This is because people hada time when they were happy with anything.
